April 25 - 10 am-noon. Summerland Library- Eva Durance: workshop, Native vs. Naturalized Plants Celebrate Earth Week by joining naturalist and author Eva Durance in discovering which of our “wild” plants arrived with settlers and whether they are beneficial or invasive.
May 2,3 – 8 am – 4 pm – Ornamental Gardens: Spring Plant Sale. Stock up on your favourite tomatoes or water-wise perennials at our annual sale and major FOG fundraiser.
May 23 – 10 am – noon – Ornamental Gardens – Lisa Scott: workshop, Invasive Plants. No one knows more about plants unwanted in the South Okanagan than Lisa, Co-ordinator of the Okanagan and Similkameen Invasive Species Society and she is coming to share her knowledge with us.
May 30 – 1:30 and 3 pm – Ornamental Gardens – Douglas Justice: Tree Tours*. At our Centennial celebration in 2016, Douglas Justice’s tree tours were hugely popular. This time numbers will be limited so watch for details on how to pre-register. *Pre-registration is a must for this event.
June 13 – 10 am – noon – Ornamental Gardens – Kenna MacKenzie: workshop, Native Pollinators and Plants they Like. Learn more about our 400-plus species of native bees and other pollinators and take home ideas of what to plant to attract them to your garden.
June 20 - 10 am – noon – Ornamental Gardens – Rick Sauder: Rose Tour*. Our third annual rose tour now has the new Canadian Heritage Rose Garden to add to its itinerary. *Pre-registration is a must for this event.
July 11 – 10 am – noon. Ornamental Gardens – Rick Sauder: workshop, Rose Propagation*. Learn how to select cuttings from established rose bushes and grow your own at home.
