DESCRIPTION:March 25 – 7:00 pm – Summerland Arts and Culture Centre: Annual General Meeting of Friends of the Gardens. Come and share in a review of 2019\, hear about plans for 2020\, and enjoy refreshments and a guest speaker. Please take note of the new location. \nOur guest speaker this year will be Lia McKinnon\, a biologist who works for the Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Society. She has a master’s degree in Conservation biology from the University of Kent in the UK. Lia grew up in the Okanagan and enjoys all of our unique flora and fauna. She also works with the Burrowing Owl Conservation Society of BC and is on the board for the Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance. \nLia will be speaking on “Stewardship of the Natural Environment”. Given the depth and breadth of her involvement with nature\, her talk promises to be lively and informative. \n
